Case Sideboard

With a focus on long-lasting natural materials and exquisite craftsmanship, Louise Liljencrantz’s design pays great attention to every detail in the process, balancing mid-century modern influences with a contemporary language. The Case Sideboard combines strong volumes with a floating design in walnut or mahogany finished with a satin clear coat and steel burned in linseed oil

Walnut and mahogany are both superior timber, beloved by generations of furniture makers for their durability, stunning grain, and rich color. The simple, cubist structure simultaneously highlights the wood’s unmediated strength and beauty, along with its midcentury architectural heritage. This sumptuous wood sandwiches a steel case, which has been preserved and darkened to an entrancing sheen with a natural linseed oil finishing technique that dates back centuries. The steel volume opens with sliding doors to reveal capacious open shelving inside, a surprisingly delicate counterpoint to the robust exterior

Created by Liljencrantz and KFK Cabinet-Makers for the Veermakers collection, it embodies a multilayered, elegant, and timeless aesthetic and a respect for gorgeous natural materials
