Arda Yeniay
BORN ISTANBUL, TURKEY, 1987
A Turkish interior architect and designer, Yeniay combines exceptional craftsmanship with contemporary, forward design thinking. With a progressive approach, he composes elegantly bold, memorable pieces that masterfully blend Art Deco style with a Futuristic touch — exposing unexpected & stimulating forms through raw natural materials with detail-oriented sensitivity
His expressive modernist design language and challenging explorations create timeless furniture pieces where minimal forms and rich materials meet. A devotee of retro-futurism, yeniay believes that finding the balance between past and future. For him, nostalgia helps us stay grounded in the face of future that is uncertain and unpredictable. His expressive works create dynamic and engaging spaces that nourish us for the world to come
After completing his graduate degree in interior architecture from bilkent university in turkey Yeniay received his master’s degree from Domus academy in Milan. He worked in leading architectural design companies internationally before founding his EPONYMOUS studio in 2021. In 2024, yeniay was awarded an elle decoration international design AWARD for the universe table in collaboration with studiotwentyseven, where he is exclusively represented

NEW WAVE
The New Wave Collection, inspired by the avant-garde movements of the same name in music and cinema, captures the essence of innovation and rebellion against traditional norms. Drawing parallels to the revolutionary ethos of New Wave, yeniay embraces a retro-futuristic aesthetic that captures the duality of looking both forward and backward, much like New Wave artists who infused modern sensibilities with nostalgic elements. This series pays homage to that legacy, transforming natural stone into sculptural art that resonates with the boldness and creativity of its cinematic and musical inspirations
Each work captures that innovative spirit, as yeniay transforms solid stone into sculptural art, encouraging us to delve into the dynamic interplay between rigidity and fluidity, to embrace the tension between gentleness and strength. With wave-like curves reminiscent of the fluid nature of water, Each work is carved from a single block of solid marble, creating a striking contrast between the softness of the forms and the robustness of the marble. The fluid lines also evoke a sense of movement and dynamism, recalling the unpredictable and transformative nature of New Wave cinema, while the solid marble grounds the works in a timeless strength, reflecting the enduring impact of New Wave music
