The Novecento Series presents a family of contemporary lanterns that evoke both industrial relics and finely crafted objects. The title situates the collection within the cultural and historical frame of the early twentieth century, an era shaped equally by the rise of industry and the persistence of craft. In invoking this name, Fanciullacci celebrates both the formal rigor of industrial design and the tactile imperfection of artisanal making, uniting them in a body of work that is at once architectural, luminous, and enduring

Each work is composed of a patinated bronze body and an alabaster shade, creating a dialogue between material permanence and luminous delicacy. The alabaster diffuses light with remarkable softness, revealing the stone’s veins and chromatic nuances. In its glow, the lamp acquires a sense of quiet monumentality, suggesting a beacon that provides orientation and assurance. In doing so, The series evokes the nautical lanterns that once guided seafarers, their structures weathered by salt and wind yet persisting as guardians of safe passage

The bronze, cast using the lost-wax technique, is sculpted first in plaster, then molded and translated into wax models before the final casting. This artisanal process allows for slight irregularities that remain visible on the surface, investing the object with a human quality despite its reference to the aesthetics of the machine and the gear. The final patina, achieved through acids rather than paint, enhances the bronze with natural tonal variations, underscoring the authenticity of its surface
