Returning to the celestial themes that run through his practice, Tourain’s Orbis Side Table explores the quiet movement of heavenly bodies. Forms are drawn together, crossing paths and suspended in delicate balance, as if caught in a single moment of an endless orbit

Brass discs appear to circle one another, each carrying its own surface and character. Deep green galaxy patinas drift across the metal like distant worlds, while warmer traces of brass emerge from the darkness, catching the light as the perspective shifts. No two surfaces are ever entirely alike, allowing the brass to become part of the work’s expression rather than simply its material

Handcrafted in Belgium, the composition feels at once grounded and in motion, a sculptural constellation of weight, balance, and material transformation. Each element holds its place in relation to the others, creating a quiet tension between stillness and movement

At once functional and contemplative, the Orbis Side Table brings the vastness of the cosmos into the domestic interior: a small universe shaped in brass
