Anna Agapova
Born moscow, Russia, 1980
Anna Agapova offers a unique interdisciplinary approach to art and design by creating one-of-a-kind spaces and objects that bridge the gap between natural and urban environments. Her work, spanning over more than two decades, features organic shapes, natural materials, light and sound. She aims to create balanced and atmospheric spaces, which typically convey a deep sense of peace and harmony
Anna’s journey in design began at the Faculty of Geography at the Moscow State University in Russia. Her love of drawing maps led her first to the Japanese school of painting, and then to the Tsereteli Moscow Modern School of Art, where she finally realised that she wanted her life to be in art and design. Following an extra university course in lighting technology Anna started working on the development of decorative lighting projects, but soon she decided not to be limited by lighting alone, expanding her focus by working on residential and commercial interior design
After ten years of designing private and commercial architectural projects and creating bespoke pieces, it was only natural for Anna to consolidate her bespoke production experience under a unique brand. In 2017 Anna in a partnership with architect Oleg Klodt opened an office in London and launched the O&A London brand
In 2021, Anna pivoted her focus towards collectable design, creating an exclusive lighting capsule collection, which debuted at PAD London. The collection’s success inspired her to develop the AGAPE line, encompassing installations, objects, and sculptures that epitomise her refined aesthetic and innovative spirit
