Ateliers Pinton

Founded Aubusson, France, 1867

For nearly 150 years, Pinton has been making exceptional rugs and masterful wall tapestries. From generation to generation, the PINTON family have been working in trades related to tapestry and rug-making.At PINTON, the word “know-how” is not brandished in vain or misused. Techniques are mastered, men and women are sensitive and passionate, particular attention is paid to the origin of materials as well as to the materials themselves, and the transfer of skills and knowledge is valued – all contributing to the unparalleled expertise of the ateliers.

the history of PINTON has punctuated with fruitful collaborations and fascinating encounters, including collaborations with modern artists including calder, Picasso, and Cocteau, who were attracted by the distinctive manufacturing process and the unique finish produced by the materials. But pinton is also marked by the wealth of talents in its midst. For over a decade, a team of four creatives coming from diverse backgrounds have devoted their time to designing rugs and carpets for the PINTON manufactory

Driven by shared curiosity, constant research and dialogue, this team is continually enriching pinton’s collections with new patterns or designs, combinations of materials and colors. capturing trends, listening to customers’ wishes, and at the crossroads of the creative and production processes, the PINTON team of designers are at the heart of the ateliers

PINTON was awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label in 2009 for excellence in craftsmanship. It was also awarded the Ateliers d’Art de France, which recognizes the key contribution of creative craftspeople to society. With Sustainability and ethical concerns thoroughly embedded in Pinton’s operating values, PINTON received a silver medal from EcoVadis. The pinton manufactory’s work has been exhibited at every major art and design fair around the world, including Salone in milan, Paris design week, and Maison & Objet Paris, and in every major design publication, including AD, elle decoration, Marie Claire Maison, IDEAT, and DOMODECO
