Jose Cháfer

Born Madrid, Spain, 1991

A Spanish sculptor, Cháfer is deeply inspired by nature and its cyclical phenomena, his artistic approach is marked by ongoing exploration of the expressive possibilities of materials, always seeking a balance between form, space, and light. In creating each work, Cháfer contemplates the intrinsic interconnectedness woven into the tapestry of the natural world—the infinite variety of shapes, textures and colors—and distills them into unique works of art. In awe of the harmonious dance of creation, transformation and evolution that defines our environment, Cháfer captures a sense of constant flux, becoming, and balance in each sculpture

After discovering a passion for working with his hands at an early age, Cháfer studied sculpture at Complutense University of Madrid and architecture at Rey Juan Carlos University, also in Madrid. His work has been recognized with major awards, such as the Artistic Residency Prize in Antarctica and the First Prize in Sculpture at the Villa de Parla, establishing him as a prominent figure in the contemporary sculpture scene. His talent and vision have enabled him exhibit work at numerous premier galleries and fairs, and to participate in prestigious projects, including collaborations with Loewe and sculptural design for the new Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid
