After studying Architecture at the Technical University of Madrid and at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Urquiola founded her own studio in 2001. Her work is in the collections of the world’s great museums of art and design, including the MoMA, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Victoria and Albert, and the Stedelijk. She has won numerous international accolades, including The Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes in Spain
