The Boxes collection by Olga Engel is a reflection on the value of every human being. Each of us is unique, like a piece of art, and Engel wanted her furniture to hold that idea rather than compete with it

When someone sits in a Boxes chair or sofa, they become part of the piece itself, its most valuable element. The form is deliberately quiet and structural, built to frame the person rather than outshine them

For Engel, the true value of any space is never the furniture in it, but the people who inhabit it. Boxes is a reminder that every individual is unique and irreplaceable, always the most precious acquisition of all

Handcrafted by Olga Engel in Latvia, Boxes is strictly limited edition

BIOGRAPHY

OLGA ENGEL

French and Latvian artist, Olga Engel creates work that combines luxury, minimalism, and functionality with a sense of character, powerful emotional undercurrents, and a touch of irony. Her practice is fueled by a desire to metamorphose ordinary objects into expressive works of art by giving them new, unexpected functions. For Engel, beauty and harmony in art can only manifest if there is a strong, sensory, emotional underpinning. Her work, therefore, is intentionally and unequivocally personal, born from her experiences, emotions, and memories, inviting us to recall intimate moments in our own lives

Engel collaborates with master artisans in both France and Latvia to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship in her designs. She is a graduate of the Moscow Textile Academy and the Moscow Design School, and continued her training at KLC School of Design in London, where she worked closely with British designer Mark Humphrey. Her work, found in private collections across Europe and USA, has been featured at premiere design exhibitions including Salone Milano, Design Miami, Salon Art + Design New York, PAD Paris, and PAD Geneva
