Dune is inspired by the slow passage of time and the subtle influence of environmental forces on material form. Combining wood and stone, Jablin explores the dialogue between two radically different materials, embracing their inherent textures, strengths, and vulnerabilities—a record of what has been worked and what the earth left behind
A sculpted oak top, available in fumed, matte ebonized, or gloss ebonized finishes, sweeps downward in a single fluid gesture, its grain rendered visible and tactile through Jablin’s hand. Below, a raw slab of Pele Tigre marble rises to meet it, partially polished, partially untouched, its fractured amber and grey-green surface carrying the full geological memory of the stone
The works evoke a quiet process of erosion and transformation, where materials appear to mingle and reshape one another over time. The hardness of stone meets the softness of wood, creating forms that suggest movement, flux, and continual change—the way wind reshapes a dune not through force but through persistence, through the quiet accumulation of contact over time
Through these encounters, Dune reflects on how even the most enduring materials are shaped by the rhythms of nature. Hand sculpted in France and offered as a limited edition of eight, carrying within it the lasting influence of time, material, and the forces that quietly shape them both
