The Stillness Collection was born from Bonini’s fascination with the expressivity of structural discipline and spatial order. The collection is defined by restrained geometric volumes that evoke the clarity and sobriety of modernism, reinterpreting its sublime simplicity for contemporary living. By working in a restrained vernacular — each work features a uniform material and repetition of form — Bonini invites us to consider objects stripped of noise and how profound meaning can accrue in silence and stillnessInspired by the principles of high modernist architecture and minimalist art, Bonini specifically drew upon the architecture of Louis Kahn and the the objects of Donald Judd. In each work, we can see echoes Kahn’s structural rigor, play between light and structure, and monolithic use of material, along with an homage to Judd’s simplicity of form, quiet precision, and non-hierarchical compositions

The Stillness Collection does not simply draw upon the formal vocabularies of these landmark figures, but also deeply interrogates their aesthetic principles and artistic processes. Much as Judd resisted calling his objects sculptures, Bonini sees these works less as furniture and more as compositions: rectangular forms stacked and aligned in balance like architectural fragments or like thoughts finding order. In process, he discovered that collection was not about an imposed design, but about finding rhythm, proportion, and stillness

A profound yet playful tribute to the works that inspired it, the collection is an exploration of how simplicity and clarity can be imbued with warmth and evoke surprising emotion. In its stillness, we can see limitless potential and dream into the untapped possibilities of human creativity

BIOGRAPHY

Andrea Bonini

Born Verona, Italy, 1985

An Italian designer and art director, Andrea Bonini reinterprets deceptively simple shapes with an impassioned attention to detail to create exceptionally sensual and luxurious pieces and environments. Constructed with the finest craftsmanship and materials, Bonini’s sculptural furniture collection is noted for its elegant geometry and proportions, along with meticulously crafted symmetry, bold lines, and ample curves. His pieces simultaneously evoke emotional narrative and highlight artisanship in material and form

Born into a family of metal craftsmen in the world’s cradle of marble artisanship, Bonini’s deep knowledge and passion for these two materials often find their way into his designs. This background has inspired him to explore the raw, natural beauty of materials and to create bold conversation between contrasting elements within his pieces. At his atelier in Milan, Bonini creates limited edition pieces, signed and numbered, that singularly combine refined Italian taste with an utterly contemporary vision

After graduating in interior design from the Marangoni Institute in Milan, Bonini founded his studio in 2014. Creating collections for several Italian luxury brands, he received international awards at the Salone del Mobile, and his work was published in leading international design and architecture magazines. In 2019, Architectural Digest Italia named Bonini as one of the best designers under 35
