The Gabriel collection by Martin Massé is a striking manifesto for a dark Neo Art Deco movement. Rooted in the bold visual language of New York’s Art Deco era, the collection reinterprets this iconic aesthetic with a contemporary sensibility, blending opulent materials with architectural precision

Each work embodies a sense of layered simplicity with restrained and sculptural forms. Stacked geometries reference the architectural ambitions of Art Deco skyscrapers, while soft, flowing curves suggest a sense of human intimacy and refinement. Gabriel draws particular inspiration from the sculptural and sensual contrasts found in the work of Tamara de Lempicka, a master of Art Deco portraiture and figuration, particularly her nudes from her New York period. Known for her bold depictions of modern femininity and her highly stylized, sculptural treatment of the human form, Lempicka’s influence imbues the collection with a striking interplay of sensuality and structure, of voluptuous curves and disciplined geometric forms. Martin Massé

Born Nantes, France, 1990

A Parisian architect and designer, Massé combines the tradition of exceptional French craftsmanship with contemporary design. With simple, pure proportions and noble materials, Massé composes bold, structural works that are strongly influenced by ancient Italian architecture, Japanese craftsmanship, and the Art Deco movement. At the same time, his works reference science fiction, travel, poetry, and cinema. This balance of the ancient and the modern create singularly timeless furniture

Massé trained at Penninghen and L’Ecole Speciale D’Architecture in Paris. He worked with architects and designers such as Joseph Dirand, Tristan Auer, and Jean-Michel Wilmotte before founding his own studio in 2017
