JORIS POGGIOLI

Joris poggioli

Born French Alps, France, 1988

a French artist, architect, and designer, Poggioli draws inspiration from his French-Italian heritage, seamlessly blending French elegance and sophistication with Italian subtlety and eccentricity, resulting in a perfect fusion of both cultures. His strong architectural vision enables him to create timeless objects where form reigns supreme. obsessed with shape and inspired by a range of mid-century and contemporary architects and artists, his works express creative freedom and a sense of play yet are simultaneously sculptural, elegant, and timeless. Following form, he Allows the essence of his materials — such as marble, stone, lacquer and velvet — to speak to us in an embodied and emotive experience

Poggioli’s works seamlessly integrate into a wide range of settings, from historical to contemporary. Whether simple or intricate, the power of form takes center stage in a sculptural dance. In this spirit, each work stands independently yet harmoniously complements the others. every line embodies an introspective quest, emphasizing the importance of freedom, discipline, and the ability to capture the nuances of daily life and translate them into captivating designs

After studying architecture, Poggioli founded his own atelier in 2017, where has been crafting his own sculptural world with a premium on form and accentuating the inherent power of materials. Renowned for his architectural prowess, Poggioli has been recognized as part of the AD 100 four consecutive times

TOTEM

an evocative interplay of shapes, lines, and materials, Poggioli’s totem series is radical, sensitive, and plastic, drawing on iconic movements in art and design history. It reflects the stark influence of American minimalism and the rational, modernist vision of 1930s architecture, which Poggioli channels with purity of form, clean lines, and the expressive use of materials in the twelve meticulously crafted works. With curves and arcs that are not merely decorative but essential, tactile, and sensual, each work strikes an exquisite balance between poggioli’s innovative technique and expressive power, blending Sobriety, efficiency of lines, and sculptural intention

At his atelier in Milan, Poggioli has carefully chosen and crafted unique fine materials to bring to life this sculptural, functional, and timeless collection. For the first time, He employs silver using a technique developed exclusively for this series, imbuing key pieces with luminosity, preciousness, and rarity. The seats, adorned with cylindrical leather backrests and armrests, showcase an exquisite attention to detail through refined stitching. Ceppo di gré gray stone and devitalized solid oak provide accents that contribute to the collection’s expressivity, warmth, and restrained opulence

achieving a masterful balance of moderation and sophistication, Each work in the Totem series is a testament to the poggioli’s ability to infuse modern design with historical resonance, creating a singular world that is both contemporary and timeless
