The GIAVA Collection, its name evoking distant volcanic landscapes and mineral richness, is a family of coffee and side tables defined by soft, organic volumes shaped through the ancient technique of lost-wax casting. in these cast bronze or aluminum works, Fanciullacci explores the tension between mass and surface, where solid forms are articulated through a finely worked skin

Each work is hand-modeled with a distinctive vertical linear pattern that runs continuously across its surface. Once polished, this texture catches and disperses light, creating a subtle vibration that animates the metal. The effect softens the perceived weight of the material, giving the volumes a surprising sense of lightness, as though they were gently wrapped or draped rather than cast

This tactile surface is paired with a stone inset, most often in dark Emperador marble, whose depth and tonal richness introduce a quiet mineral presence. The dialogue between metal and stone evokes a refined naturalism, as though these forms might have been discovered in a shaded woodland, shaped over time and polished by unknown forces. At the same time, their smooth contours and layered materials suggest something more intimate and unexpected, recalling the precision and allure of sophisticated confectionery

Handcrafted in Italy and produced in limited editions, the works of the GIAVA Collection bring together traditional casting techniques and mineral richness in a language that is both material-driven and refined

BIOGRAPHY

Simone Fanciullacci

Born Genova, Italy, 1982

A Milanese designer, Fanciullacci considers his practice to be artistic research on THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FORM AND SPACE. THE AIM BEHIND THIS QUEST IS TO UNDERSTAND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE VOLUMES THAT GIVE LIFE TO A FORM, THE RHYTHM THAT CHARACTERIZES THEM, AND THE sense of BALANCE or DISEQUILIBRIUM THAT THEY EVOKE. His extraordinary sculptural works EMERGe FROM an EXPLORATory process OF HANDS-ON experimentation IN SCULPTURE, COLLAGE, DRAWING, and technical innovation. In This AESTHETIC AND POETIC INVESTIGATION, Fanciullacci finds FREEdom in playing WITH DIFFERENT LANGUAGES AND MATERIALS, eventually giving LIFE TO his UNIQUE WORKS AND OBJECTS

Fanciullacci produces his singular works in CLOSE COLLABORATION WITH the finest ITALIAN CRAFTSMEN. Because of his long lasting collaborative relationships with several local artisans, Fanciullacci is able to explore a range of ancient and innovative techniques alike, along with the possibilities of exquisite materials, such as bronze, aluminum, marble, stone and solid wood. each work is fully customizable and is crafted WITH THE AIM OF LASTING FOR generations, MAKing THE ACT OF COLLECTING A SUSTAINABLE CULTURAL STATEMENT
