The Harmony Credenza is a sculptural ode to Sarakiniko Beach on the island of Milos. Known as the “Moon Beach” for its luminous, otherworldly glow, Sarakiniko is a place of startling contrasts, where volcanic white pumice, softened by centuries of wind and sea, stretches into surreal, undulating cliffs. Carved hollows open suddenly to reveal the turquoise Aegean, while the stone’s pale surfaces reflect the Mediterranean sun with an intensity that blurs the boundary between earth and sky
Durelli translates this dreamlike geology into functional form. The travertine’s creamy beige veins are carved into flowing, wave-like surfaces that mirror Sarakiniko’s sculptural terrain. Openings in the stone echo the natural hollows of the cliffs, inviting light to slip across its contours and cast shifting shadows that animate the surface. Each curve resonates with the rhythms of erosion, channeling both solidity and transience
The walnut structure anchors the work, offering warmth and structural balance against the cool, luminous travertine. Together, stone and wood establish a dialogue between permanence and fluidity, echoing the natural and cultural histories embedded in the materials themselves
Handcrafted in Italy, the Harmony Credenza is at once a storage object and a living sculpture. a reverent homage to Sarakiniko’s lunar landscape, where land, sea, and light converge in timeless serenity, the work becomes its own singular ethereal and sublime topography
