Lamb is Olga Engel’s quiet study in Japanese restraint. Drawing from an aesthetic that appears composed on the surface yet runs deeply emotional beneath it, Engel set out to create an object that could hold both qualities at once

The bench is carved from a single tree naturally felled by the wind. The form follows the material rather than imposing upon it, making the piece entirely one of a kind

The collection takes its name from a memory Engel finds particularly moving, the feeling of returning home and being greeted by a gentle, familiar companion. That warmth became the emotional heart of the piece, translated into wood

OLGA ENGEL

French and Latvian artist, Olga Engel creates work that combines luxury, minimalism, and functionality with a sense of character, powerful emotional undercurrents, and a touch of irony. Her practice is fueled by a desire to metamorphose ordinary objects into expressive works of art by giving them new, unexpected functions. For Engel, beauty and harmony in art can only manifest if there is a strong, sensory, emotional underpinning. Her work, therefore, is intentionally and unequivocally personal, born from her experiences, emotions, and memories, inviting us to recall intimate moments in our own lives

Engel collaborates with master artisans in both France and Latvia to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship in her designs. She is a graduate of the Moscow Textile Academy and the Moscow Design School, and continued her training at KLC School of Design in London, where she worked closely with British designer Mark Humphrey. Her work, found in private collections across Europe and USA, has been featured at premiere design exhibitions including Salone Milano, Design Miami, Salon Art + Design New York, PAD Paris, and PAD Geneva
