LERICI Collection
Infused with the atmosphere of its namesake town on the Italian Riviera, Lerici is a sculptural collection that channels the geological poetry and cultural exuberance of the Ligurian coast. Known for its role in literary and artistic history—from Shelley to Montale—Lerici carries a cultural memory that resonates through the collection’s quiet gravitas. Melchiorri channels this aura into a collection of enduring presence that become act of preservation, a work of memory, and a practice of form that holds within it both the past and the promise of permanence
Each of the twelve works—ranging from armchair and bench to table, console, and sculptural sofa—is hewn from a single monolith of Breccia Pernice, a rare Italian marble whose warm ochres, reds, and soft greys echo the sedimentary complexity of coastal cliffs under Mediterranean light. Through its rich veining and fractured textures, the stone itself becomes a visual map of time—an archive of tectonic and marine forces made tactile
The forms are assertive yet fluid. The contours of each work are guided by the movement of the sea—its undulations, erosions, and quiet force, suggesting the enduring gestures of water against stone, where repetition becomes refinement and fluidity is carved into permanence.
