Stefano’s Dark Rosewood Collection revisits the hallmarks of 1970s Brazilian organic modernism— sculptural geometry, material sensuality, and balance between rigor and fluidity—while re-articulating them through contemporary craftsmanship. Defined by the interplay of ebonized rosewood and polished brass, the works demonstrate Stefano’s focus on proportion, tactility, and structural clarity
The coffee table is conceived as three stacked geometric planes: the top and bottom rendered in richly grained rosewood, the central layer in polished brass. This stratified composition, both robust and elegant, reads as a sectional study in form and material, with the warm radiance of brass mediating the density of the wood. Its proportions emphasize solidity while retaining an architectural sense of balance
The vase introduces a more intimate dialogue of forms. Two cylinders—one in brass, one in rosewood—intersect to create a unified volume. The simplicity of the gesture evokes both embrace and tension, underscoring the contrast between metallic sheen and organic depth. As a sculptural object, it suggests monumentality in miniature, a distilled expression of Stefano’s language
The lamps extend this vocabulary into a series of variations that reinterpret the intersecting-cylinder motif at different scales and configurations while playing with rhythm and symmetry. Each lamp underscores the collection’s central theme: the harmony of geometry and materiality
Handcrafted in Italy, the Dark Rosewood Collection unites the sensuality of Brazilian organic modernism with the precision of contemporary European artisanship
