The Belvedere Collection proposes furniture as a sculptural mountain topography that is imposing yet weightless, monumental yet elusive, austere yet stirring. Comprised of a dining table, coffee table, console, and desk, the collection stands as a tribute to the Alps, evoking their vast scale, silence, and elemental force. In each work, Stefano distills the quiet majesty of the alpine landscape, inviting a sense of stillness and contemplation akin to standing before the mountains themselves
At the heart of the collection is Belvedere Marble, a rare quartzite quarried in Northern Italy. Its deep black ground is traversed by incandescent veins of gold and amber, recalling fissures of light cutting through alpine rock faces at dusk. The dramatic veining suggests tectonic movement and geological time, as though each slab carries the compressed memory of the mountains. Carefully selected and oriented, the stone’s striations flow across the surfaces like ridgelines and horizons, transforming each work into an abstracted landscape
The marble tops possess a commanding physicality, echoing the mass and permanence of mountain plateaus. In contrast, mirror-polished steel elements introduce a sensation of altitude and air. Their reflective surfaces dissolve into the surrounding environment, capturing fragments of architecture, sky, and movement, and visually lifting the stone above the ground plane. The effect is one of suspension: vast weight rendered unexpectedly buoyant, like a peak emerging through cloud
The formal language subtly recalls the faceted geometries explored by Gio Ponti, whose diamond motifs resonate with alpine crystalline formations and sharp ridgelines. Angular transitions and precise edges introduce dynamism without excess, reinforcing the tension between geological density and architectural control
Handcrafted in Italy, the Belvedere collection embodies the luminous, quiet awe of the Alps and translates it into works that feel both anchored to the earth and poised in suspension, bridging landscape and its emotional impact
