John Brevard
Born MIAMI, united states, 1983
an American designer, architect, and artist, Brevard is Inspired by principles of natural order and the inseparable relationship of the past to the whole. In each of his pieces, Brevard seeks to communicate The concept of non-duality and natural harmony. Inspired by a deep ecological awareness and transpersonal experiences, he uses architectural design to point the way to an integrated world culture. Born in Miami, Brevard became fascinated with naturally occurring patterns and proportions found in the universe at a young age. His interests led to a deeper study of sacred geometry principles found throughout natural systems and in ancient architecture. This was combined with an exploration of theoretical sciences during architecture graduate school, where he honed his art across multiple disciplines. His innovative parametric furniture collection, which exemplifies Brevard’s radical vision, is available exclusively at studiotwentyseven
in 2007, Brevard launched his eponymous atelier, a hive of artistic production across a range of disciplines and mediums. he is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and his work has been featured in publications around the world from Vogue to Forbes and Vanity Fair. It features composed organic shapes that are abstract, pulled, and stretched into fluid forms. These web-like diffusions are reminiscent of morphogenesis, the biological process that causes an organism to develop its shape. Each element in the collection shines on its own, yet also folds into a series of similar forms that flow together and merge into non-dualistic relationships.
