Hervé Langlais
Born Caen, France, 1964
Hervé Langlais is a French architect and designer. After training at the Normandy School of Architecture, he worked with architect Paul Andreu for over fifteen years. Their collaborations include the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Roissy Airport, and numerous other high-profile projects. As an independent designer, his limited edition works are noted for their clean shapes, attention to detail, and rare materials. His designs balance elements of architecture and sculpture, of industry and craftsmanship, of brutality and elegance
In 2012, Langlais co-founded the Galerie Negropontes in Paris, where he designs an annual furniture and object collection rooted in the tradition of French decorative arts
