The Portovenere Collection by Sauro Melchiorri draws its name from the dramatic coastline of Liguria, where cliffs rise straight from the sea and centuries of weather have carved the stone into something at once fierce and quiet

This collection reflects that same dialogue between sea, stone, and history, translating the vertical drama of the cliffs and the soft Mediterranean light into sculptural marble forms where organic, cloud like veining moves across each surface as though shaped by tide rather than tool, with bases that rise in irregular, fluted columns echoing the rock faces beneath the village itself

The pieces hold a rare depth and contrast, the marble’s warm ochre veins cutting through pale stone with the same quiet force as the cliffs against the water, HANDCRAFTED IN ITALY, each form carries a sense of permanence, strength tempered by restraint, and a presence that feels both ancient and entirely contemporary

He is dedicated to exploring the undiscovered possibilities of material and form to create one-of-a-kind works of audacity, integrity, and intelligence. Working between London and Milan, MELCHIORRI is actively involved in every stage of the artistic process, from conception to drafting to manufacture.
