The SENSU Collection is an exquisite fusion of antiquity and modernity, east and west, the organic and the geometric, drawing inspiration from the venerable legacy of Japanese Sensu folding fans. Cherished for centuries as expressions of respect, good wishes, and communication, sensu fans hold great cultural and historical importance, from their ceremonial use to their role in performing arts and tea ceremonies. The Sensu Collection pays homage to this tradition, embracing the refined aesthetics of the fans, translating them into utterly contemporary works that embody the spirit of Japanese heritage and grace

A tribute to the enduring elegance of sensu fans and Japanese minimalism, each handcrafted work combines tradition with innovation in both form and material. The collection is primarily crafted with geometric precision from Anigre Wood, renowned for its lustrous grain and warm hues, and timeless travertine, evoking the serene beauty of Japanese landscapes. Oxidized Brass handles adds a touch of understated luxury to the cabinetry and Resin tabletops reference Japan’s meditative pond gardens

Through masterful interplay of these materials and ingenuity of design, the collection invited reflection and celebration alike. In exploring the cultural legacy of Sensu fans, Szumilas brings us a contemporary vision of ancient Japanese principles that finds joy in simplicity
