A study in understated grace and glamour, the AURATA Pendant by Jan Garncarek is an object of quiet elegance that reveals its complexity through attention and proximity. The name Aurata, drawn from the Latin for “gilded,” reflects the pendant’s quiet radiance and Garncarek’s genius in transforming humble geometries into luminous spectacle
Rooted in the simplest graphic language of a line and a dot, the design evolves into a composed constellation of four lampshades. Reduced to elementary geometric volumes, the form demonstrates how simplicity, when executed in exquisite materials and with fine craftsmanship, can become an evocative and sensuous sculpture
Behind Aurata’s restrained exterior lies a richly articulated interior world. The handcrafted brass structure houses an integrated LED system whose hidden complexity introduces a subtle tension between outer calm and inner richness, between what is seen and what is sensed. Light emerges evenly and softly, activating the form without overpowering it, and lending the pendant an atmosphere that feels ingeniously composed yet utterly human
Handcrafted in Poland, the AURATA Pendant reflects Garncarek’s ability to reconcile minimal form with material richness. With an understated glamour, it is a functional sculpture that feels at once architectural, tactile, and quietly expressive
