Eva Menz

Born Munich, Germany, 1982

Munich-born and London-based, Menz is an internationally renowned sculptor and illumination artist. Her sculptures occupy the location where traditionally a chandelier would be placed, engaging with the focal point in a space. Each of her pieces are conceptualized individually, created for a specific location in response to the context and emotional requirements in a particular environment. Menz is interested in positively interrupting spatial voids, changing and altering the journey a viewer takes through a space. Her latest works include incorporating slow motion via micro automation, continuously changing the position of carefully crafted, suspended elements. Menz is driven by her meticulous eye for detail as well as her commitment to craftsmanship, with the intention that the pieces be passed onto future generations

Eva Menz founded her eponymous studio in 2004, after graduating from Central Saint Martins in London. In 2019, Menz launched Atelier 001 to widen access to her exquisite light objects by offering collectible designs, each hand-finished by master artisans, who imbue the exclusive objects with incredible skill
