The Molecule Sconce draws from the hidden logic of biological systems, where simple elements repeat, combine, and multiply to produce structures of extraordinary complexity. Composed of aged brass spheres of varying scale connected into a single vertical composition, the piece captures the visual language of cellular formation, as if caught mid-process, continuously becoming
The design is rooted in Garncarek’s fascination with the sphere as a fundamental unit of form. Here that unit is not singular but proliferating, each sphere relating to the next through proportion and connection, producing a structure that feels both scientifically precise and organically alive. The composition carries an inherent tension between control and growth, between the rigor of geometry and the unpredictability of nature
The aged brass finish deepens this quality, its darkened, layered surface giving each sphere a density and gravitas that pure metal alone could not achieve. At the center of the composition, a frosted glass sphere softens the structure, diffusing light with an atmospheric quietness that contrasts the solidity surrounding it and draws the eye inward
Handcrafted in Poland and produced in a numbered edition, the Molecule Sconce is an object that operates at the boundary between the scientific and the sculptural, where material intelligence and formal invention give rise to something that feels at once elemental and entirely singular
