Named for the ruins that nature slowly reclaims over time, the Ruinas Collection explores the moment where structure gives way to growth. Fanciullacci hand-sculpts two branch-like elements in cast bronze that overlap and entwine as if nature itself had slowly taken hold of something once built, leaving behind an organic form where strength and fragility coexist
Each work in the Ruinas Collection is defined by its organic, irregular profiles, the two cast forms converging to create a delicate visual balance. The sconce emerges effortlessly from the wall, as if resting gently rather than mounted, evoking both the raw strength and spontaneous grace of nature reclaiming its space. Concealed within the form, a subtle light source casts a warm halo on the wall behind it, as if life still lingered within the ruin
Handcrafted in Italy, each body is cast in patinated bronze using the lost-wax casting technique. A plaster model is sculpted entirely by hand, from which a mold and wax models are made for casting. Once cast, the bronze is finished with a patina applied by brush, not as paint but as a natural reaction of acids upon the metal’s surface, deepening the sense of age and authenticity within each piece
