VICTOR GUEDY

BORN PARIS, FRANCE, 1990

A sculptor and object designer, Guedy reappropriates traditional artisanship to create works of stunning simplicity  With unique training in the finest French craftsmanship, Guedy meticulously tames his materials to reveal their ancient and primitive secrets. His sculptures bespeak something ineffable about the inevitability of history and raise provocative questions about humanity and free will. His deep roots in the world-renowned artisanship of Atelier Saint Jacques allow Guedy to apply his knowledge of heritage workmanship in metal, stone, and marble to a singularly forward-looking vision

After completing his philosophy degree at Nantes Université, Guedy became a master stone mason by joining the fabled Compagnons du Devoir
