Born Chelmsko Slaskie, Poland, 1960
Birkner designs contemporary stoneware and ceramic sculptures, as well as functional objects. After training as a Graphic Designer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, Poland, she discovered clay and three-dimensionality to be an inexhaustible source of creative freedom. Birkner’s sensual, organic forms are grounded in her practice of “vibrant calmness,’ inviting the viewer toward relaxation, meditation, and love. In the act of creation, she seeks to simplify and enrich life
Birkner has lived and worked in Munich, Germany since 1989. Her works are on display in public and private collections around the world
