A German artist and master of ceramics, Stefanie Hering combines her love of porcelain, her artistic talent and her comprehensive artisan knowhow with an innovate vision to create work that has become synonymous with fine dining. Bearing the stamp of her personality and creativity, Hering’s works in tableware, glassware, table textiles and lighting feature a clean-lined aesthetic that relies on the inherent qualities of the material. From the first design stages to the finishing details, each of hering’s works is the result of unparalleled craftsmanship. In her pursuit to reveal beauty while pushing the limits of form and aesthetic, hering personally selects and trains each of the artisans she works with. Hering collaborates with Reichenbach porcelain and Theresienthal glassworks, unmatched in their heritage expertise and skills, to find innovative approaches that combine her forward looking vision with centuries-old craftsmanship
After training with master ceramists in Germany and Denmark, hering earned a degree from the Höhr-Grenzhausen School of Ceramic Design and Technology. In 1992, she founded her anonymous atelier in Berlin, producing early collections for Bernardaud, bergdorf goodman, and the museum of modern art. The favorite of 250 Michelin starred restaurants for her bold and uncompromising tableware design, hering has collaborated with Thomas Keller, Daniel boulud, Tom Aikens, and Heinz Winkler.
