The Aeras collection unfolds as a meditation on the unseen. Taking its name from the ancient Greek word for “air” or “breath,” it translates the imperceptible currents that shape our world into sculptural permanence. Crespin imagines air not as emptiness but as a living material that bends, eddies, and expands. Through his hands, that invisible and ephemeral choreography becomes formed in stone
Each work in the series captures a fleeting gesture, a moment of atmospheric movement made tangible. The curves, recesses, and undulations carved into Belgian Black limestone suggest ripples in an unseen medium: a quiet turbulence arrested mid-motion. What is normally transient — the flow of air, the rhythm of breath — becomes weighty and eternal, its silence given mass and memory
Handcrafted in France in limited edition by atelier Saint-jacques, Aeras embodies the precision and patience of stone carving while retaining the immediacy of a sketch made in air. In these forms, Crespin transforms the ephemeral into the monumental, inviting reflection on the architecture of air itself
