The Aeras Strata collection unfolds as a meditation on time’s silent architecture. Inspired by the slow, sculpting forces of wind, water, and erosion, Crespin translates the language of carved landscapes into a series of tables that feel both geological and deeply human. The title, Strata, refers not only to the layers of stone that compose the earth but also to the accumulation of memory, the way every surface, over time, retains the trace of movement and change

Each work in the collection is composed of stacked marble elements, their contours gently shifting from one to the next. This progression evokes the evolution of terrain — valleys deepening, ridges softening — to capture continuous transformation in stillness. From table to table, the forms subtly morph, creating a sequence that reads like a sculptural topography in motion

Carved from Alabastrino marble, the works bear the luminous warmth of sedimentary stone. Their striated edges, smoothed by hand, recall the patient labor of erosion, while their polished planes invite reflection, evoking the dance of sunlight over canyon walls. In this dialogue between precision and impermanence, material discipline meets the unpredictability of nature

Handcrafted in France in limited edition by Atelier Saint-Jacquess, Aeras Strata embodies Crespin’s ongoing exploration of how invisible forces leave visible marks. Each work stands as both artifact and landscape, a monument to transformation, not through drama or rupture, but through the quiet persistence of time itself

Raphael Crespin

Born Paris, France, 1978

Raphael Crespin is a French architect and designer based in Hong Kong

His approach is often experimental at the intersection of design, art, and architecture. Raphael is particularly interested in exploring the creative potential of emergent digital tools and their ability to address new ways of thinking design and architecture narratives

Prior to establishing his practice, Raphael worked with various offices in Asia and Europe. As a Postdoc Researcher at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, he participated in the Grand Challenge Program for Sustainable Built Environment in association with MIT. One of his most relevant experiences was certainly with dECOi Architects, an architectural firm known for its radical approach where Raphael actively contributed to the development of advanced design strategies for numerous award-winning projects

Raphael received his Master of Design and Interior Architecture from ESAG Penninghen in Paris
